CHILD TRAFFICKING

Human trafficking means the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, trading or receipt of persons within and across national borders by (a) the use of threats, force or other forms of coercion, abduction, fraud, deception, the abuse of power or exploitation of vulnerability, or (b) giving or receiving payments and benefits to achieve consent.

In Ghana, children are trafficked for exploitative reasons and usually do work that is dangerous to their health and hinder them from going to school.
Report all cases of trafficking, including anybody who has knowledge of trafficking, to the Police, CHRAJ, Department of Social Welfare, Legal Aid Board and any reputable civil society organisation.
